Overview of CCIE DC Datacenter Fabric Connectivity (VxLAN and vPC)

Welcome to the "Datacenter Fabric Connectivity" course! In this course, we'll delve into the critical aspects of modern data center networking, focusing on two key technologies: VXLAN and VPC. These technologies are essential for building scalable, resilient, and high-performance data center fabrics.

We'll explore the fundamental concepts, configuration steps, and best practices for implementing VXLAN and VPC in your data center. Through hands-on demonstrations, you'll gain practical experience in configuring these technologies on Cisco NX-OS devices.

By the end of this course, you'll have a solid understanding of VXLAN and VPC and be able to design and implement robust data center fabrics.

Enrolling in this course gives you exclusive access to our vibrant study group, where you can engage in enriching technical discussions, collaborate on labs, and get answers to your questions from peers and experts. This collaborative environment sets us apart from other training providers, who often offer solitary, independent study options. By joining our study group, you'll enhance your learning experience through collective problem-solving, hands-on lab work, shared insights, and a supportive community. Elevate your learning journey with us and thrive in a network of like-minded learners!

Topologies

The course contains an EVE-NG lab file and a workbook. The workbook contains these tasks:

  1. Complete the basic configuration and make sure reachability is accomplished in the fabric.
  2. Configure Shadow RP on the spines and make sure multicast reachability is established.
  3. Configure VXLAN flood and learn in the fabric.
  4. Implement Anycast-RP in the fabric and check the connectivity.
  5. Change the configuration and enable VXLAN with EVPN for control plane.
  6. Configure inter-VXLAN routing. Make sure to use symmetric EVPN IRB on the leafs.
  7. Configure vPC on L1 and L2 and SW1.
  8. Create a double-sided vPC between the four Nexus switches in the topology.
  9. Configure “Active/Active forwarding” feature on the network. Add HSRP for all VLANs and make sure it works in Active/Active mode in data plane. Check the reachability of devices in the end.
  10. Configure “anycast-gateway” feature on the network. Make sure the connectivity is in place.
  11. Configure VXLAN and vPC in a way that we can see secondary IP address for the vPC connected domains and primary IP address for L3 networks attached to the fabric.

Good luck with your studies!
