Course Overview

Storage networking is the DCCOR domain many network engineers have never worked with. This course starts with what a SAN is and why it exists, then builds up to Fibre Channel on Cisco MDS on a custom-made emulator.

It follows Domain 3, Storage Network, of the DCCOR 350-601 v1.2 blueprint.

What you will learn

- How a SAN compares with DAS and NAS, and how Fibre Channel, iSCSI, FCoE and NVMe over fabrics carry storage traffic

- How a Fibre Channel fabric works on Cisco MDS: VSANs, fabric initialization, port channels, FCIDs, the FCNS database, zoning, device aliases, CFS, NPV and NPIV

- How NFS and iSCSI work, and how they compare with Fibre Channel
