CCIE SP - Inter-AS MPLS VPN - All Inter-AS Options - Initial + Full Configs

Inter-AS MPLS VPN enables secure and scalable VPN connectivity between different Autonomous Systems (ASes), allowing service providers to extend MPLS-based VPNs beyond a single AS. It supports multiple deployment models—Option A (back-to-back VRFs), Option B (MP-eBGP label exchange), Option C (end-to-end label switching with BGP Labeled Unicast), and Option D (enhanced Option C with SR or RSVP-TE)—each offering trade-offs in complexity, scalability, and operational overhead.

These solutions help large-scale ISPs and enterprises achieve seamless, multi-AS connectivity while maintaining traffic separation and QoS policies.

Mastering Inter-AS MPLS VPNs is essential for network engineers working on global-scale MPLS architectures and cross-provider VPN services.
