ASA Clustering is a high-availability and scalability solution that enables multiple Cisco ASA firewalls to operate as a single logical unit, providing increased throughput, load balancing, and redundancy. This technology is essential for large-scale enterprises and data centers that require seamless failover and high-performance security.

Unlike traditional active/passive failover, ASA Clustering allows active/active traffic distribution, meaning multiple firewalls actively process traffic simultaneously. The cluster operates with a cluster control link (CCL) to synchronize state information and distribute connections dynamically, ensuring minimal disruption in case of a failure. With support for both routed and transparent firewall modes, ASA Clustering enhances security posture while maintaining operational efficiency.
